By car:
There are 2 possibilities from Paris. The travelling time is about
the same.
1. Motorways (toll roads) as much as possible:
At Paris head for Bordeaux / Nantes (A3 / A86 / A10). Once on the
A10 head for Orléans, Vierzon, Clermont-Ferrand. Then at Clermont
Ferrand make for Lyon (A89 - A72) and after about 10 minutes take exit
Thiers (exit number 2). Drive direction Courpière/Amber; keep following
the D906. After Courpière the D906 goes winding up and down. Then
you will see the exit Tours sur Meymont to the right. When following
this road you will arrive in our village. Immediately after the
church is a square/parking, turn into it and take a small road left down.
To the left you will see our house with the blue hatches.
2. About 2 hours Route National (about 60 km shorter and € 30 toll
cheaper):
At Paris head for Bordeaux / Nantes (A3 / A86 / A10). After the change
A86 – A10 do not head for Bordeaux anymore, but for Lyon A6. Then
the A77 direction Montargis. Next Nevers (A77/N7), Moulins, Vichy,
Thiers. Then the D906 direction Courpière/Ambert . See above from
this Point.
N.B. Tip for using a GPS-system: ‘Le Bourg’ isn’t a streetname
but indicates that we life in the centre of the village and not in a
little ‘hameau’ outside the village. Most GPS-systems doesn’t know
‘Le Bourg’, so choose ‘Centre’ (NOT ‘Bourgnon’!).
Or our GPS-coordinates: 45°40'22"N / 3°34'29"E
By plane:
Air France flies daily to Clermont Ferrand.
